The VWU Financial Aid Office is seeking a highly motivated and organized Financial Aid
Counselor to join our team. This full-time position manages a caseload of students and provides
assistance to students and their families as they proceed through the financial aid process. The
Financial Aid Counselor advises students about financial aid eligibility, application procedures,
available financial aid programs, costs and financing options. This role is responsible for
reviewing applications for accuracy and completing verification in order to determine financial
need while creating the student’s award package. Job functions include but are not limited to
community outreach activities and some weekend and evening attendance at information
sessions and student orientation programs. The Financial Aid Counselor must maintain a
thorough working knowledge of all Federal Title IV, State, and institutional financial aid
regulations, and is responsible for coordinating student jobs on campus for the University's Work
and Learn Program.
